Our services are provided by a range of healthcare practitioners including GPs, Advanced Clinicians, Practice Nurses and Assistant Practitioners.
General Practitioners (GPs) are doctors who have undergone additional training in primary care. Some of our GPs have expertise in a particular clinical speciality and you are welcome to see them regarding a particular problem if appropriate.
Advanced Practitioners are independent nurse specialists who have additional skills in providing primary care. They are qualified to prescribe medication and refer to specialist care. They work alongside the GPs providing routine and same day appointments.
Practice Nurses provide care for patients with long term conditions, carrying out routine checks and blood tests. Some of our practice nurses can also prescribe under GP supervision. Practice Nurses also perform smear tests and routine immunisations including those recommended for travellers.
Assistant Practitioners carry our routine well person checks for registered and new patients. They also provide advice on weight management, smoking cessation as well as providing a service for patients who need blood tests and carrying out ecg examinations.
