SHM run the Salford Homeless GP Project, based at Salford Loaves and Fishes and The Windsor Drop In Centre.
We can register homeless people who are living in the Salford area or people staying in recognised temporary accommodation in the Salford area.
We offer a full range of medical services and on-going medical care, including routine checks and blood tests, and full health care advice. We maintain a caring, non-judgemental and integrated approach, proactively referring our patients to the services they need. We also operate a needle exchange scheme.
New patients registering before 10.00am can usually see our GP at the Windsor Centre on the same day.
See our Health Navigator to register with our GP practice and for signposting to complementary services/agencies as well as on-going support with general issues.
We are based at Salford Loaves and Fishes and The Windsor Centre on Mondays / Wednesdays / Thursdays:
9.00am - 3.00pm - Health Navigator (Salford Loaves & Fishes: 9-12pm, The Windsor Centre: 12-3pm),
12.30pm - 2.00pm - GP
10.30am - 12.30pm - Health Care Assistant (Every other Wednesday only)
(Note: we do not currently work bank holidays)
We have good working relationships with The Windsor Drop In Centre, Narrowgate Night Shelter, the Drug and Alcohol Team, Citizens Advice Bureau, Sexual Health services, counselling services, and other local homeless projects.
On occasion (where appropriate) we can arrange for our patients to be seen at our other SHM GP practices when the Windsor Centre is closed or if the patient cannot attend our clinical surgeries at the Windsor. See our Health Navigator for more details.
We are a teaching practice and occasionally have medical students / other professionals in training on site, and we encourage our patients to engage with these, but we always respect our patients wishes if they do not wish to do so.
The service is primarily staffed by: Dr Wan-Ley Yeung (General Practitioner), Dr Jocelyn Rostron (General Practitionerr), a Health Care Assistant and the Health Navigator.
When any of our primary staffing team are on annual leave, we arrange cover with staff from our other SHM GP Practices.
Phone us on 07595 411 581 or 0161 737 8969. If phoning outside surgery hours, please leave a clear message with your name, telephone number and enquiry, and we will return your call.
The numbers of children admitted to hospital for less than a day have been increasing dramatically over the last 10 years and the majority of these admissions are for minor illnesses that should stay in the community. Really sick children need to be in hospital but many stay for a night (or afternoon) just because the community isn't set up to care for them.
We are trying to change this to ensure that children and their families will get a much better service and the NHS will save millions.

The Salford Childrens Community Partnership (SCCP for short) is a really exciting project and the first of its kind in the UK and funded for 3 years by the Department of Health. The project started in October 2011. Our service sits between the GP practice and the hospital. It's a dedicated children's nursing service in the Little Hulton surgery of Salford Health Matters GP practices, aimed to help children get well at home, a preferable alternative to putting them in hospital on a short term basis when they are near home. The team consists of highly trained, specialist children's nurses that previously you would have only gotten to care for your child if they were being treated in hospital.

If you require any vaccinations relating to foreign travel you need to make an appointment with the practice nurse to discuss your travel arrangements. This will include which countries and areas within countries that you are visiting to determine what vaccinations are required.
There is further information about countries and vaccinations required on the links below
It is important to make this initial appointment as early as possible - at least 6 weeks before you travel - as a second appointment will be required with the practice nurse to actually receive the vaccinations. These vaccines have to be ordered as they are not a stock vaccine. Your second appointment needs to be at least 2 weeks before you travel to allow the vaccines to work.
Some travel vaccines are ordered on a private prescription and these incur a charge over and above the normal prescription charge. This is because not all travel vaccinations are included in the services provided by the NHS.

Travelling in Europe
If you are travelling to Europe the EU has published useful information for travellers on the European website.
Some services provided are not covered under our contract with the NHS and therefore attract charges. Examples include the following:
The fees charged are based on the British Medical Association (BMA) suggested scales and our reception staff will be happy to advise you about them along with appointment availability.
